The rate for in-hospital mortality appears to have decreased by 11.8% between 2001 and 2009 for patients hospitalized with cardiac arrest, according to an analysis of data from a national hospital discharge database. During the study period, the mortality rate declined across gender, age, race, and stratification by comorbidity.
