For patients with burns and moderate to severe inhalation injury, combination therapy with care bundle and cough machine assistance can improve self-efficacy levels and mental resilience, according to a study published in the Journal of Burn Care & Research. In a retrospective analysis, researchers evaluated 98 patients with moderate to severe inhalation injuries who were divided into a combined therapy group (N=49, cough machine assistance and care bundles) and a control group (N=49, conventional therapy). Tests for selfefficacy, mental resilience, and post-traumatic growth were conducted. The study team also assessed the rate of pulmonary infection and arterial blood gas analysis indicators. In the combined therapy group, the length of hospital stay was considerably less than that of those in the control group. Patients in the combined therapy group showed notaby higher scores for strength, optimism, and self-efficacy than those in the conventional therapy group. Additionally, in the com[1]bination therapy group, the pulmonary infection rate was notably lower
