Even light physical activity appears to substantially reduce the risk of diabetes in older men, particularly those who are overweight or obese, according to British researchers. Men who reported occasional, light, moderate, moderately vigorous, and vigorous physical activity had lower diabetes risks—with 0.58, 0.39, 0.38, 0.39, and 0.33 hazard ratios, respectively—when compared with men who reported no activity.
