High school students who have used electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) appear to be more likely to report using combustible tobacco over the next year when compared with non-users of e-cigarettes. Study investigators found that past 6-month use of any combustible tobacco product was reported by 30.7% of e-cigarette users, compared with a rate of 8.1% seen among non-users. Respective 12-month rates were 25.2% and 9.3%.
