2023 NACLC is taking place in Chicago’s famous “Magnificent Mile” district, so be sure to set aside a little time for exploring!
Dubbed the “Magnificent Mile,” this area in the heart of Chicago encompasses a 13-block stretch of North Michigan Avenue from the banks of the Chicago River to the south, to Oak Street to the north, and east to the lakefront.
With over 275 restaurants, 460 stores, 60 hotels and unique attractions, the Magnificent Mile offers something for everyone.
Interested in a show or performance? Ease on down the road to The Wiz at the Cadillac Theater, take in a poetry reading in homage to poet and gender activist kari edwards at the Poetry Foundation, or visit the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago for a screening of “Everyone I Know Is Sick,” a program of five videos generating connections between HIV and other forms of illness and disability. For a high-energy, immersive museum experience, try the Museum of Illusions Chicago.
Looking for music? Head to the famous House of Blues for a Sunday gospel brunch or pop into Prince: The Immersive Experience.
If you’re planning to sneak in some holiday shopping during your stay, the Shops at North Bridge offer the Magnificent Mile’s most stylish stores. Grab a pumpkin cream coffee at Beatrix before you go!
And if you simply want to relax and enjoy a delicious meal at the end of the day, Terrace 16 offers a vibrant menu featuring new American flavors, an extensive list of craft cocktails, and gorgeous views of Chicago from the sixteenth floor.
