Increased interleukin-10 (IL-10) appears to cause severe HDL cholesterol deficiency and raises triglyceride levels, according to a study. Results of the study suggest that IL-10 is a potent modulator of lipoprotein levels and may represent a potential new biomarker for these disorders.
