To go through the concerns and current evidence for diagnosing and managing vaginal mesh exposures after female mesh-augmented anti-incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse surgery. Since the introduction of mesh into female pelvic surgery, a variety of uses have been described, each with its own set of risks. Vaginal mesh exposure is the most prevalent mesh-related problem. The majority of current data on the management of vaginal mesh exposure is based on observational studies and case series, however this is changing. The study offers data synthesis, as well as therapeutic and surgical methods to treat this issue.

Surgeons must be well-versed in the treatment of vaginal mesh exposures. Depending on the patient’s presentation and goals, conservative treatments, mesh correction, or mesh removal may be appropriate. More research is needed to standardise mesh resection procedures and investigate non-surgical therapies.
