Using decision support systems in pediatric patients appears to help physicians select imaging modalities that lower radiation exposure and align with current guidelines, according to recent research. Decision support was especially effective in lowering radiation exposure when physicians were provided with information on estimated radiation exposure and imaging-appropriateness guidelines.
