The integration of personal and professional lives appears to pose a substantial challenge for surgeons in the United States, according to results of a cross-sectional study. Among 7,197 participants, 52.5% reported a work-home conflict within the previous 3 months. The following were independently associated with increased risk for work-home conflict:
Hours worked per week.
Having children.
Gender.
Work location.
