Patients with severe symptomatic aortic stenosis who go untreated following referrals for transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) appear to have a 1-year mortality rate of almost 40%, according to a study. Among this patient population, those with advanced heart failure, renal dysfunction, low albumin levels, and/or left ventricular dysfunction were at increased risk for mortality.
