The 2024 Midyear Clinical Meeting and Exhibition of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists—ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting—takes place in New Orleans from December 8 to12. Physician’s Weekly has put together a rundown of the anticipated program for the meeting, highlighting the opening session, the extensive poster program, and more.
Saturday, the day before the meeting formally begins, has multiple sessions for residents, including sessions on residency program designs for new and existing programs. Areas of clinical focus Saturday include infectious disease and diabetes.

On Sunday, the focus on infectious disease and diabetes continues. Sunday also includes the start of poster presentations and networking sessions in the evening.
Monday features the meeting’s opening session. Sanjay Gupta, MD, will be the keynote speaker. Awards and honors to be presented during the opening session include the ASHP Board of Directors Award of Honor and the ASHP Board of Directors Distinguished Leadership Award.
The latter half of the meeting from Tuesday through Thursday includes sessions on pain management, oncology, and emergency care—both in terms of the ED and emergency preparedness. Sessions on infectious disease and diabetes continue, as well as a broader focus on cardiovascular disease.
