Patients with type 2 diabetes appear to be at higher risk of developing urinary tract infections (UTIs) than patients without diabetes. An international study found that the incidence of UTIs was 46.9 per 1,000 person-years among those with type 2 diabetes, compared with 29.9 per 1,000 person-years for people without diabetes.
